PennDesign is world renowned for excellence in education, research and a commitment to social responsibility.

Our programs and centers are aimed at understanding threats to our shared future and providing solutions at a scale we never thought possible. Moving beyond the traditional boundaries of academia, our faculty and students are leading the way in innovative and sustainable design to address the world’s challenges.

Across the School we will focus on five areas of Impact: Energy and the Environment; Cities and Regions; Culture and Heritage; Equity and Inclusion; Innovation and Technology.

CAMPAIGN GOAL: $52,000,000

Campaign Priorities

  • Student Support – Prospective PennDesign students choose between the top graduate programs in the world. With increased support, we can welcome students from underrepresented communities, and make this choice an easier one.
  • Faculty Support – We must continue to attract the finest faculty from around the world, who come to PennDesign inspired by our legacy and aligned with our vision.
  • Upgrade Facilities – We recognize the need to reimagine our spaces on campus to reflect the needs of growing programs and centers and unlock our own best outcomes.
  • Centers and Programs, including the Kleinman Center for Energy Policy, The Ian L. McHarg Center for Urbanism and Ecology (landscape architecture), the Advanced Research & Innovation Lab (architecture), The Penn Equity Project (city and regional planning), the Laboratory for the Interpretation of Historic Sites (historic preservation), and The Center for Public Art and Space (fine arts).
