Annual Giving Amplifies The Power of Penn
Annual giving is a vital way that every member of the Penn community can make an impact at the University and contribute to The Power of Penn Campaign.
Last year, 111,612 students, alumni, parents, and friends collectively contributed a record-breaking $82.2 million through annual giving at Penn. These donations were made to The Penn Fund, in support of the undergraduate experience as a whole, and to 22 other annual funds housed in schools and centers across the University. Through gifts of all sizes, donors to Penn’s annual giving programs make an astounding collective impact: Penn’s endowment would have to grow by $1.5 billion to match the level of support received through annual giving each year.
These donations help Penn to seize unanticipated opportunities and address unexpected needs, providing diverse support for programs, capital needs, and people. Annual giving is a significant source of funding for undergraduate and graduate financial aid, as well as for faculty recruitment, lifelong learning opportunities, and improvement to spaces across campus.
Annual giving is the lifeblood of the University, providing tangible, bottom line support to every priority area. But the act of giving to annual funds, as much as the amount you give, is what matters. Your participation is a vote of confidence, and sets an example to others to join the movement that is Penn. By including annual giving in your philanthropic plans, you amplify your support, pride, and passion for Penn – each and every year.
